OmniPathology Provides Oral HPV Testing and Information at Palm Springs Pride
As part of its ongoing commitment to public health, OmniPathology offered oropharyngeal human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, educational resources, and life-saving information to attendees at Palm Springs Pride 2024.
On November 2 and 3, OmniPathology, in partnership with Legacy MD Medical Group, hosted a booth at the popular Pride festival, an event that drew more than 200,000 people.
“We were thrilled by the response from medical professionals, advocacy groups, and attendees who stopped by the booth to learn more about oropharyngeal HPV—the major cause of throat cancer—and why it’s so important to get tested to protect one’s own health and the health of others,” said Ronald A. “Throat cancer is the cancer no one is talking about,” Blum continued. “Most people are aware that persistent HPV infection is linked to the development of cervical and anal cancer, but few know that throat cancer is also caused by HPV.”
