Dr. Mohammad Kamal

FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

  • Dr. Mohammad Kamal completed his Pathology training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, serving as a chief resident. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at UCLA. Dr. Kamal is board certified in Anatomic Pathology.

    Dr. Kamal has extensive experience in managing large national pathology laboratories, having served as Medical Director of LabCorp’s Dianon Laboratory and as Chief Medical Officer for PLUS Diagnostics. He is an expert in laboratory quality and has an excellent track record of building quality systems and helping laboratories prepare for and obtain CLIA, CAP and New York State accreditations.

    Dr. Kamal is an expert in Gastrointestinal Pathology. He is particularly interested in colon cancer, Barrett’s esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease and frequent lecturer at medical schools and medical conferences throughout the United States and internationally. He was a volunteer clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at UCLA.

Michelle Herrera

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

  • Michelle Herrera joined OmniPathology as Executive Director in July, 2020.

    Michelle brings over 20 years experience of quality assurance work and for the last 13 years, she was part of the LabCorp National Office of Quality as an Associate Director for the West Coast.

    Michelle’s experience in Quality Assurance has been varied and she has developed her skills working in vastly different healthcare industries; Clinical Trials, Point of Care Testing, Computer Software Development and IT Support, CLIA Laboratory and FDA regulated testing, including highly sensitive HIV, Hepatitis and West Nile Viral testing. She led the laboratory to a ISO 15189 accreditation that successfully passed multiple cycles of audits and lead quality improvement initiatives that included Quality System of an FDA regulatory screening genetic testing, electronic document control database and electronic capture of non-conformances.

Dr. Jacques Dorcé

STAFF PATHOLOGIST

  • Dr. Jacques Dorcé is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, prior to his Doctor of Medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. After residency, he stayed on as a Surgical Pathology Fellow, focusing on Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology. After his fellowship he went into private practice in Southern California, where he developed an expertise in Gynecological and Urological pathology. In addition to participating in Omnipathology’s GI program, Dr. Dorcé will be involved in our GYN and GU pathology.

Dr. Katrina Krogh

STAFF PATHOLOGIST

  • Dr. Katrina Krogh is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with subspecialty in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology. She earned her Bachelor's degree in both Chemistry and Biology from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2012, prior to her Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York in 2016. She completed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in 2020. After residency, she stayed on as a Gastrointestinal and Liver Surgical Pathology Fellow. In the field of surgical pathology, Dr. Krogh has conducted cutting-edge medical research and presented her research both nationally and internationally. She is co-author on several peer-reviewed publications and an award-winning author on Pathology Outlines. Dr. Krogh joined the OmniPathology team in the summer 2021. In addition to GI pathology, Dr. Krogh signs out ENT, Derm, and Breast pathology cases..

Dr. William Temple

STAFF PATHOLOGIST

  • Dr. William Temple trained at Ohio State University College of Medicine, with undergraduate majors in both Chemistry and Biology. He undertook an internship and residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of California, San Diego and received his board certification in both clinical and anatomic pathology for the state of California. Following this, he spent 16 years at a County of Los Angeles teaching hospital, actively involved in both teaching and publishing. Since then, he has established and directed several large reference laboratories. His primary field of interest is women’s pathology and with the spread and diagnosis of HPV-induced pathology.
