COVID TESTING FAQ’s
We’ve Got Answers
-
OmniPathology is a high complexity CLIA certified laboratory. We are one of only a few labs that offer drive-through testing services. Most testing companies merely collect the samples and refer them to other laboratories. By combining sample collection and testing within the same organization, we maintain control of the sample from the swabbing event all the way through resulting phase, keeping the chain of custody and always knowing where the sample is. Furthermore, we offer our patient complete access to the test report as it appears in our laboratory information system. This is of particular value for individuals who are testing for travel, because we provide an official report that includes our name, address, name of our medical director, and CLIA number, along with an official letter from the State of California recognizing OmniExpress as a licensed COVID testing organization.
The last thing you want is to fly abroad only to learn that your COVID test report is unacceptable to airport authorities.

Yes, our laboratory is listed on the State COVID Task Force website. We will provide you with an official letter from the State recognizing OmniPathology as a laboratory authorized to perform COVID testing. To be listed on the COVID Task Force website, we had to meet all requirements mandated in California and federal CLIA law. Omnipathology has a valid California clinical laboratory license and a CLIA certificate, we are running an FDA EUA molecular diagnostic tests, we notified Laboratory Field Services that it performs COVID-19 testing via the COVID-19 Notification Form and we routinely submit testing data to CalREDIE electronically.

No, Hawaii has a limited list of acceptable laboratories. The state is currently developing a digital COVID-19 test verification system that should vastly expand testing options for travelers. This system will eventually replace the trusted testing partner program. We are working with the State to be included on this list. We will update our website once we are included in the Hawaii list.
